What’s the weather like in Dubai?

Dubai experiences hot and sunny weather year-round, with very little rainfall. The city has distinct summer and winter seasons. It is extremely hot during the months of June – September when temperatures can reach up to 40⁰C. The winter months, from October to May, are the most pleasant time to visit with temperatures averaging at a comfortable 25⁰C in the day and 15⁰C at night – perfect weather for 5 star activity holidays.

The flight time from London to Dubai takes around seven hours and the emirate is four hours ahead of GMT. The closest airport is Dubai International Airport with a common hotel transfer time of around 15-30 minutes. Visitors from most countries can get a visa upon arrival, but it’s best to check with your tour operator or hotel before you travel. The currency in Dubai is the UAE Dirham (AED) and the official language is Arabic, although English is widely spoken. Tipping of 10-15% is expected in the service industry.

December is a pleasant time to visit Dubai when the temperatures are relatively cool and comfortable (yet much warmer than in the UK!). Dubai also has a handful of festivals and events happening in December, including the Dubai Shopping Festival – a month-long event that attracts visitors from all over the world.
