The Golden Triangle & Tigers in Ranthambore Inspired Itinerary

Day 1

Fly overnight to Delhi

Day 2 & 3

Discover Delhi

Spend two nights in Delhi relaxing and acclimatising. Explore the contrasts of Old and New Delhi on a private guided tour. This includes the enormous Jama Masjid, from which you can walk through the bazaars and narrow streets — a great way to absorb the sights and sounds of Old Delhi. See the monumental buildings set along wide boulevards of Lutyens’ New Delhi, including India Gate and the President’s residence.

Stay at The Leela Palace New Delhi, a very modern, very regal stay with services and facilities to match. Its interiors are bursting with Indian and European furnishings, fresh flowers, and astral chandeliers, within easy reach of the airport and main attractions.

Day 4

Agra

Leave Delhi in time to travel south to Agra. You can travel by road with your private driver (a three-hour trip on the express highway) or take the train, which is an amazing experience.

In the afternoon, take a private guided walk around Agra’s sights, such as the impressive Mogul Red Fort. The Red Fort is a great preview of visiting the Taj Mahal in the morning — the two were built during the same period and have much shared history.

Your stay for one night in Agra is at the luxury Oberoi Amarvilas, located just 600 metres from the Taj Mahal and with every bed room facing the palace, it has the best spot in town!

Day 5

Agra & Ranthambore

It is an early start on your morning in Agra, but well worth it for sunrise views and tour of the Taj Mahal.

After breakfast continue your travels, heading east to the ancient, abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri. After exploring with a local guide, drive to the nearby Bharatpur railway station. Board your train and travel to Sawai Madhopur — a journey of just over two hours. This is the nearest station to Ranthambhore National Park, which is your location for the next two nights

At Ranthambore, stay at the Oberoi Vanyavilas which has 25 permanent tents all with large en suite facilities with marble baths, teak flooring, period furniture and private veranda or patio. At the main hotel there is a temperature-controlled swimming pool, Banyan Tree spa, library and beautiful indoor and outdoor dining areas.

Day 6

Ranthambore National Park

Head into Ranthambhore Park to enjoy game drives through the rugged terrain which is home to lots of wildlife, including the elusive Bengal tiger. Game drives are early in the morning and then early evening, when temperatures are at their coolest and animals at their most active. So there’s plenty of time to relax in the surrounding of your hotel.

Day 7 – 9

Jaipur

Enjoy a final game drive in the park and after breakfast, drive to the Pink City of Jaipur (this takes around four hours) and settle into your hotel.

The next 2 days give you plenty of time to explore Jaipur with a private guide. Explore the Palace of the Winds, the Jantar Mantar Observatory and the impressive Amber Fort located 11 km (6.8 miles) outside the city and you’ll also have the chance to dive into the bazaars with a guide and get behind the scenes of the local markets with the chance to meet local traders and artisans.

Your hotel in Jaipur is the Rambagh Palace, set in 47 acres of Mughal gardens, the palace dates back to 1835 and is Jaipur’s premier address having remained the home of the Jaipur royal family until 1957. The rooms are extremely comfortable with all the amenities one would expect from a five-star hotel, whilst the suites offer a genuinely opulent stay. There are both indoor and outdoor pools and wonderful spa facilities to enjoy.

Day 10

Travel

Return to Delhi (take about 6 hours) for the rest of your day at leisure in a hotel near the airport in readiness for your return international flight in the morning.

Day 11

Return to UK
