Enjoy a luxurious holiday in Italy.
Perched high into a rock face overlooking the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean sits Hotel Santa Caterina, a spectacular late 19th century villa surrounded by fragrant citrus and olive groves and pretty bougainvillea.
Family-owned, Santa Caterina beautifully encapsulates all that is quintessential Italian and Mediterranean. The architecture, interiors and décor feature vaulted ceilings, hand-painted ceramics and wrought iron, as well as marble and hand-painted floors. The rooms are bright, light and spacious.
The hotel is nestled in a great location above Amalfi, ideal for taking day trips to the pretty and historic coastal towns of Positano, Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii and Naples, whilst the centre of Amalfi is just a 15-minute walk away.
A highlight is the Beach Club featuring a heated saltwater swimming pool and sun-deck with loungers, deck chairs and umbrellas, overlooking the warm sea below. Next to the Beach Club is Ristorante Al Mare, where you can enjoy fresh grilled fish and home-made pizzas. Whilst the main restaurant has won many culinary awards – you’re in for a treat here.
The Amalfi Coast is romantic and tranquil, and definitely worth exploring – take a boat trip to nearby towns and stroll the charming streets and soak up the marvellous culture and history. The phenomenal ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum are not far from Santa Caterina, and the hotel can arrange an excursion there for you.
When you’re back from exploring, the hotel spa awaits – be sure to try the exclusive Amalfi Gold massage, using citrus oils to rejuvenate and replenish your skin.
Hotel Santa Caterina has a range of room types to suit your budget and party size.
Santa Caterina’s accommodation consists of classic Italian interiors, spacious and light-filled rooms, with marble bathrooms and balconies looking over the sea or the garden. There are 36 bedrooms, 13 suites and 17 other accommodations in the hotel’s two private villas. Hotel Santa Caterina has two restaurants, both with panoramic views of the sea. The hotel is renowned for its gastronomy – and you will see why. The hotel’s main restaurant has won a string of prestigious culinary awards, and the chef is often a guest chef at contests and special events. Enjoy grilled lobster and squid with sautéed spinach, or perhaps a traditional Chateaubriand is more to your taste. The Ristorante Al Mare is perfect for more casual dining, located just above the Beach Club terrace, and specialties include fresh grilled fish and fragrant pizzas cooked in the wood-burning oven.
The Beach Club is a beautiful sunbathing terrace carved into the rock face, complete with heated saltwater pool, loungers, deck chairs, umbrellas and beach towels. Enjoy the sea views whilst the scents of citrus and olives fill the air.
Hotel Santa Caterina’s Spa is an indulgent wellness centre where you can enjoy being pampered by way of massages, facials, body treatments and more, performed using Mediterranean herbs and citrus fruits. Exclusive massages include the Lemon Massage “Amalfi Gold”, which stimulates your Chakra energy centres and leaves your skin smooth and purified.
