The Romanos Costa Navarino

Idea for… Relaxing
Favourite thing about this hotel… The pool options/ plenty of space to relax
The Romanos is a lovely hotel, comprising of 321 rooms and suites, all of which are large including the standard room which is spacious. I was surprised to see lots of families staying here, when the facilities for kids are better at The Westin Resort.
The service was excellent – there are loads of staff around the hotel and were extremely helpful with anything I needed. There are several pool areas where guests can relax, and it never felt overcrowded, even with nearly full bookings. Additionally, there’s a new adults-only pool which is quiet, and offers plenty of spots for a peaceful midday nap.
The beach is within walking distance, and while it appears sandy, it does have a mix of small stones, making it less comfortable for lounging. However, sun loungers and umbrellas are provided, and it’s a fantastic place to enjoy the special beach menu alongside refreshing cocktails.
Dining at The Romanos features a buffet breakfast with an extensive selection, shared with The Westin. The restaurants are situated in a central square between the two hotels, allowing easy access to dining options from either resort. In the evenings, the area comes alive with a vibrant atmosphere, making it a great spot to spend your night.
My personal favourite restaurant on the property is Flame, which is a bit further from the other dining options. You can request a buggy to take you there from the hotel. While it requires a little more effort than dining closer to the main area, it is definitely worth the visit.
The Westin Resort

Idea for … Kids & Families
Favourite thing about this hotel… Activities for families
The accommodation at The Westin Resort is very similar to The Romanos, but the rooms have an older feel to them. They have 445 guestrooms on offer and more styles available for families.
This hotel is perfect for families or couples who are keen to try out activities. Guests must visit ‘Division 16’ which houses an indoor bowling alley, indoor basketball courts, VR and an escape room. One of the highlights is the Diner, aimed at kids, but offer great food and an even better atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to pop in for a drink or a snack.
A highlight at The Westin, is the onsite waterpark, which includes three slides and a play pool for younger kids. There is also a kids club and baby club which is located onsite.
Both The Westin Resort and The Romanos are large resorts, so most people choose to use a buggy to get around and save a bit of time. There are always plenty of buggy’s around the resort, with drivers ready to take you to where you want to go.
The W Hotel

Ideal for … Couples
Favourite thing about this hotel… Beachfront location
The W Hotel, Costa Navarino is located right on the beach, just a 10 minutes complimentary shuttle bus from The Westin Resort and The Romanos. The W is an adults only hotel, you must be 12 years or over to stay here. This resort is a lot more compact, with only 246 rooms and more of a boutique feel to it. There is a very calming vibe here, the infinity pools are peaceful and offer views out onto the beach. The watersports for all four resorts are located at this beach.
This is a much newer hotel, the rooms, and all its features are a lot more modern in comparison. The low rise building means you are getting great views from your accommodation.
Although a buffet, the breakfast was a bit unusual here, spread out across different buildings, its didn’t seem to make much sense.
This hotel is set in a great location, you can easily walk to the Agora which is a local areas filled with restaurants and shops. So if you want to explore whats going on nearby and don’t fancy eating at the hotel, this is a great place to go. There is a gorgeous restaurant on the beach where you can watch the sunset and enjoy great food. I would definitely recommend stopping by here.
The Mandarin Oriental

Idea for … Luxury Lovers
Favourite thing about this hotel… The Views
The Mandarin Oriental is located at the bottom of the Agora, you can arrange for a buggy to take you up to the hotel which is a few minutes drive up the hill. The Mandarin Oriental is a luxurious hotel, with only 99 rooms & suites, which are quite spread out across the resort’s grounds.
The hotel’s swimming pools are located directly behind the beach. There are a lot of rooms and villas which have private infinity pools, all offering a lot of privacy in these room categories. The resort is quite hilly, you need a buggy to get around to your room or the shared areas in the hotel including the restaurants and pool areas.
The staff here are incredible and can’t do enough for you. When you check-in they add you to whatsapp so it’s really easy to communicate with them. You can ask them questions about the resort, ask them to book restaurants or anything else you need.
The breakfast is a la carte, this didn’t seem to be a favourite amongst the guests. A buffet would have worked better.
All four of the hotels are located is great spots, nearby to each other but also nearby to some exciting places which are worth visiting. If you want to venture out, Giolova is 5 minutes away by taxi from the Westin and Romanos – it’s a lovely little area with a selection of restaurants overlooking the sea, and a few shops.
Pylos is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the W & Mandarin. Here you will find some lovely local restaurants, some of which are facing the sea.
