Enjoy a luxurious holiday in Antigua.
Perched on a private peninsula on Antigua’s southern shore, Curtain Bluff is a luxury all-inclusive resort that retains much of its old-world colonial charm. Set amidst 15 acres of lush, tropical gardens and boasting two stunning white sand beaches, it is one of the island’s finest resorts.
Located on the beach or on the Bluff, the luxuriously spacious rooms and suites all offer breathtaking views from the large floor-to-ceiling windows and are decorated in an elegant style with modern amenities to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The Tamarind Tree serves the usual favourites for breakfast followed by a five-course dinner menu that changes daily, accompanied by fine wines from the largest wine cellar in the Caribbean. The Sea Grape serves a buffet lunch followed by Italian/Antiguan-influenced cuisine at night four times a week.
Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, tennis court, squash court, mini basketball, a putting green and non-motorised watersports including deep-sea fishing and scuba-diving, as well as a fabulous spa on the Bluff.

Accommodation types
Curtain Bluff’s rooms are elegant yet modern with bright floor-to-ceiling windows.
The most luxurious of Curtain Bluff’s accommodations, these two generously scaled 2,800 square-foot suites occupy the third floor of a Caribbean-style villa, right on the resort’s “surf” beach. Both suites are luxuriously furnished with blue-marble bathrooms, colonial furniture, richly-coloured fabrics and lush palms. The bedroom and adjoining living room leads out onto a sweeping veranda with sun-chairs and a Jacuzzi – the perfect place for private sunbathing or cocktails under the stars. The suites can be linked to a Junior Suite to create a two-bedroom suite. Extended groups and families can take over the whole floor (four bedrooms). Amenities include: complimentary Wi-Fi, room service and terrace hot tub.
The unique Terrace room is the most popular choice for newly-weds thanks to its private location at the very top of the Bluff and breathtaking views over the beach, Morris Bay and the Caribbean Sea. White walls, bright sea-blue fabrics, one-of-a-kind furnishings and glowing woods give the room a sense of calm, timeless sophistication. The bedroom is separate, and its large 567-square-foot terrace with an elevated Jacuzzi is the ideal spot for private relaxation and dining. Amenities include: complimentary Wi-Fi, room service and Infinity Edge Plunge Pool.
Set into the rocky edge of the Bluff, the Bluff Rooms have the same décor, bedroom and bathroom as the One Bedroom Bluff Suites, but no living room. The bedroom has a king-size bed and the spacious terraces look out over both the sea and the resort’s Surf Beach. When combined with a One Bedroom Bluff Suite (using an interconnecting door), it creates the perfect space for two couples or a family – with three different levels, a shared living room and well-separated bedrooms. Amenities include: complimentary Wi-Fi and room service.
Curtain Bluff’s most affordable accommodations, the 18 Deluxe Rooms fill a two-story Caribbean-style villa right on our Surf Beach, a short walk down a shaded pathway from the bar and restaurant. Nine rooms are on the beach level, with spacious terraces that lead straight out onto the sand. Spread out on the floor above, nine more have verandas looking out over the sand and sea to the distant headland. All are decorated in a colourful West-Indian style, with contemporary dark-wood furniture, white bedcovers, king-size beds and colourful accents that evoke the colours of the sea. Amenities include: complimentary WiFi and room service.
Accommodates: 3 persons.
The 40 Junior Suites are spread through the second and third-story of two villas right on the resort’s Surf Beach, just a stone’s throw from the water. All have sunken living rooms and separate bedrooms with king-size beds and elegant sea-grass sofas and armchairs, accented with rich blues and greens that mirror the colours outside. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead onto verandas and terraces looking out over the sea, palms and lushly forested shoreline. The grand marble-and white-tile bathrooms have double sinks, big tubs and large, open-walled showers. Amenities include: complimentary WiFi and room service.
Accommodates: 4 persons.
Overlooking our Surf Beach but a few steps higher up the Bluff, the five one- and two-bedroom Executive Suites are more private and secluded. Their split-level interiors are light and airy, decorated with natural-wood and sea-grass furniture and bright, natural colours. To the side of the large living room there is a sun-drenched garden patio with a hammock. Upstairs there is a breakfast nook and a 16-foot-wide dining terrace that make the most of the panoramic views. Beyond the dining terrace is the single bedroom(s) with en-suite bathroom and adjoining oceanfront patio. Amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi and room service.
Accommodates: 4 persons sharing the single bedroom or 8 persons sharing the two bedrooms.
Hotel highlights
Find out what makes this resort special. Here are some of our personal highlights.
Many Caribbean resorts can claim a beautiful beach, but how many have two…totally different in mood and only steps from your room?
All the rooms run along the back of our Surf Beach, an undulating stretch of golden sand shaded by palms. The less-used of the two beaches, it’s ideal for quiet contemplation, playing in the surf, and swinging in a hammock to the rhythm of the waves.
On the other side of the Bluff, the softly curving Bay Beach is the hub of daytime activity (and inactivity). The jetty at one end is the departure point for dive trips, fishing expeditions, cruises aboard the 50-foot Sentio, water-skiing, and rides on the Super Mable (an inflatable raft that is towed behind a boat).
Sheltered by Cades Reef (the site for twice-daily snorkelling trips), the water is calm and clear, perfect for swimming, sailing a Hobie and kayaking. Recliners cluster in the shade of palapas. At the other end of the beach is the Beach Café and Bar, the place for delicious buffet lunches and the Monday night barbecue right on the sand. Throughout the day waiters walk up and down the sand delivering cold drinks.
At the back of the beach, surrounded by palms, lies the swimming pool with its two lap lanes, the basketball half-court, two courts for bocce and two more for shuffleboard.
At Curtain Bluff you can be as active as you want to be, lying in the shade or jumping from one sport to the next. Since all our activities, including watersports, are included in the room rate, the choice is yours.
•Scuba diving (including all necessary equipment)
•Aqua aerobics
•Swimming pool (with two 75-foot lap lanes)
•Water-skiing and wakeboarding (speedboat, equipment and instruction)
•Beach toys (Hobie Cats, paddleboats, kayaks and windsurfers)
•Snorkel equipment (fins, mask and snorkel) and two daily reef trips
•Deep-sea fishing excursions and equipment
•Beach chairs, hammocks and sun floats
•Boat tubing (Super Mable).
The tranquil and intimate 5,000-square-foot spa sits apart from the rest of the resort just feet from the sea. All four treatment rooms have wide-open views over the water to distant Montserrat, Cades Reef, St. Kitts, Nevis and Redonda. Before their treatments, guests sit outside sipping tea brewed from herbs picked fresh from the spa’s own garden. Afterwards, they relax on the open veranda, sitting in the Jacuzzi on the cliff edge and snacking on “Spa Bites” like steamed asparagus, fruit and vegetable kebabs.
Open-walled in the traditional plantation style, the main restaurant, The Tamarind Tree, looks out over a terrace canopied by the spreading limbs of a majestic tamarind tree. At breakfast, the menu includes favourites like banana pancakes, French toast and Eggs Benedict, plus traditional island dishes, fresh juices and fruit.
At dinner, the tables are flecked with candlelight and the terrace sparkles with decorative lights. Changing every night, the five-course menu always includes salads, locally-caught fish, outstanding meats, healthy options and so many desserts they have their own menu. Each evening there is a different band and, as diners filter out of the restaurant to sit at the terrace tables, the tempo builds and couples dance in the moonlight. For more casual dining, The Beach Café, situated on the sand, holds a weekly beach barbecue accompanied by a live steel-drum band.
For those aficionados looking for a truly special wine, Curtain Bluff keeps one of the finest cellars in the Caribbean, stocked with over 25,000 bottles priced between $US 50 and $US 2,000.
