An Eco-Friendly Beach Hotel with a Salt Spa, Sustainable Restaurant and Laid-Back Vibe
SALT of Palmar is a wonderful eco-friendly hotel on the east edge of Mauritius.
Situated on Quatre Coco beach, this is a Mauritian hotel with a difference: there are no plastics, no TVs in rooms, no buffets – just fresh, home-grown organic produce, vibrant designer décor, and feel-good vibes.
The hotel is still luxurious, of course, with a spectacular spa, featuring a salt room, and rooms with 100% organic cotton bed sheets and Swedish handcrafted Carpe Diem beds. Unwind at the rooftop bar, take a dip in the pool, or stroll along with sugar-white sands of the beach.
The restaurant sources its food from local suppliers and the flavours are phenomenal – and the food always fresh. There is also a bakery and three bars. Activities include watersports, a sunrise running club, a sunrise swimming club, visits to local communities and exploring the local area in one of the hotel’s convertible cars or bicycles.
Upon arrival, all guests are given a ‘This is Mauritius’ guidebook, created by the locals, which offers an insight into the best bits of the island.
For a unique holiday to Mauritius to a hotel that thrives on sustainability, choose SALT of Palmar. You can even get married here, in a beautiful, eco-conscious way.

Hotel highlights
Find out what makes SALT of Palmar resort special. Here are some of our personal highlights.
At SALT of Palmar there is no buffet in sight – only fresh, made to order food – meaning less waste. The chefs know the local farmers, fishermen and growers by name.
The restaurant also has its own herb wall and vegetable cellar. Diners will enjoy slow-cooked dishes cooked over wood, in the charcoal grill or the tandoor oven, with Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Mauritian flavours. There is also a bakery, serving freshly-baked bread and pastries, alongside home-roasted coffee.
For drinks, there are three bars around the resort – a rooftop bar, a beach bar and a pool bar. Not forgetting the plastic-free, filtered mineral water stations.
The SALT Equilibrium spa is a celebration of detoxification and energy. Reap the health benefits of different types of salt in spa treatments, as well as the island’s first salt room.
In a room made of salt, guests inhale salt vapour, reducing stress, boosting your respiratory system and energy levels.
Experience true Mauritian culture at SALT of Palmar, by visiting local communities and skill-swap with locals and learn a new skill whilst teaching your skill to them. How about pottery, early morning fishing or basket weaving?
You can also spend days exploring on foot, by bike or in one of the hotel’s convertible cars.
