Much has changed in the world in the eleven years since I last stayed at Carlisle Bay
My overriding memory of the hotel then was its location and view and these remain
thankfully the same. Quite simply, not only is Carlisle Bay one of the best addresses in
Antigua but it also has one of the best beaches on in the Caribbean. Antigua is only 8 hours from London, one of the closest tropical island destinations from the UK, choose from BA or Virgin flights from London.

Once you arrive the resort is calm, cool and uncluttered, with polished dark wood furniture and cream linen with subtle shades of green and lilac. Twenty acres of vivid nature… sea, sky and gardens surround the hotel.

Carlisle Bay is an all-suite property. The rooms are bright, clean, and crisp. Sea views, living areas, furnished terraces or balconies, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and minibars come standard – nothing has been forgotten here, right down to the Gaggia coffee machines and over-sized day beds on every balcony or terrace. Whilst the concierge can
organise day trips out, you really don’t need to leave the resort. Carlisle Bay has four
outstanding restaurants and three bars. Additionally, a freeform pool, a spa complex,
a fitness centre, and nine tennis courts. Non-motorized watersports, tennis clinics,
and yoga classes are included, and there’s a small yacht available for charter.  If you do decide to venture out exploring: Carlisle Bay will organise trips to any of Antigua’s sites including the nearby Rainforest Zip Wire and will help arrange deep sea fishing expeditions, diving trips or days cruising around Antigua’s beautiful coastline.

In summary Carlisle Bay is a discreetly chic luxury  resort that works hard to accommodate both families and couples of all ages and manages this to the highest
of standards.  A ‘must go’ on your holiday wish list.
